How long have you been with Goji? What is your role on your team?
I joined Goji as People & Culture Manager at the end of 2022. My role is to ensure that we are growing our teams with the best talent out there and to continue nurturing our people-first culture.
What initially interested you about Goji? What do you enjoy about working here?
First and foremost, the people at Goji were truly passionate about their work and what the company aimed to achieve. Every person I spoke with also showed genuine concern for the role I was stepping into. Joining Goji during a time of significant change has been an exciting experience that has pushed me to grow and adapt.
Where did you work prior to joining Goji? How has this shaped your role here?
I come from a varied background, having worked in fintech, banking, and healthcare. Working across sectors has given me great insight into how different organisations view their people - some as just a resource and others as a true asset. I've learned that there is always room for empathy. To create an environment where people can truly show up as their whole selves, leaders need to lead with vulnerability. I incorporate this thinking into everything I do here at Goji.
Give us the inside scoop – what are some of the unique aspects of working at Goji?
We truly promote and encourage hybrid and flexible working. It's been great to see so many of my colleagues working across the globe. I also enjoy the treats people bring back from their trips!
What was your dream job as a child? Tell us a bit about your journey to where you are today.
Like many other millennials, I aspired to be a Spice Girl or a costume designer for S Club 7 when I was growing up. Although those dreams did not come true, I thoroughly enjoyed studying Fashion at UAL. However, I eventually realised that working in that industry was not for me. Fortunately, I landed a role in recruitment that opened my eyes to the people space, and I have not looked back since.
What would you do if you had unlimited free time?
I would like to contribute my time to philanthropy initiatives and environmental conservation projects. Recently, I started supporting an organisation that saves Bonobos and their rainforest home. The work they do is amazing and deserves more attention.
Any fun projects on the horizon? What are you and your team up to next?
Yes! We have recently launched our new core values; I am thrilled by all the conversations and actions that have been generated around them so far.
The People & Culture team is focused on increasing our headcount and ensuring a fantastic onboarding experience for all our new joiners. It’s a great time to join the team so if you know someone who would be a great fit for our team, please don't hesitate to send them our way.
