How long have you been with Goji? What is your role at the company?

I joined Goji as one of the first employees eight years ago. My role evolved from engineer to tech lead, then slowly transitioned over to product. I’m now Product Director and lead a team of six.

Give us the inside scoop – what are some of the unique aspects of working at Goji?

Generally, there is a lot of flexibility, with opportunities to step outside of your typical role. As a small company, we can work quickly and efficiently together.

When it comes to decision-making, employees at all levels are encouraged to contribute, develop their own voice within their team, and take ownership of their day-to-day to achieve their best work.

What has your experience been like with working on your team?

The product team is a really happy place to work.

At the start of last year we were a team of two, and now we’re six. The team is really flourishing now with everyone being up to speed on the product and settled into their role.

Post-acquisition by Euroclear, product and engineering have both gained a lot of capacity, meaning our product has come on leaps and bounds, which is really rewarding to see.

Do you have a favourite memory from working here?

I’m hesitant to call this my favourite memory as it was also very awkward! 😂

During the COVID lockdown, our CFO had everyone on Zoom waving their phone torches and playing music to celebrate my five years at Goji. It was a big surprise to me and a memory I’ll never forget!

What was your dream job as a child?

I have very fond memories of travelling to France every year and going camping with my family, where we used to travel by ferry a lot. Given this, I always used to say I wanted to be a ‘ferry driver’. I’m yet to ‘drive’ a ferry but there’s still time.

What would you do if you had unlimited free time?

I have a 1967 VW split screen camper that I worked in frequently during COVID (this is where I was during the Zoom call mentioned above!)

If I had more time, and perhaps children that weren’t in school, I’d like to think I’d be off in the camper traveling around the world! That is also assuming for once it was all mechanically sound, which is a pretty rare thing.

Any fun projects on the horizon? What are you and your team up to next?

We’ve just released some really exciting enhancements to our KYC / AML functionality and a fundraising tracker view. These projects have been great to be a part of and we’ll be carrying on with subsequent phases to build on these in the coming months.

Alongside this, as always, we have an ambitious roadmap for the next few quarters that I’m really excited to help deliver on.
