How long have you been with Goji? What is your role on your team?
I’ve been with Goji since September 2021. As an Operations Executive, I act as an account manager for a number of clients. I am responsible for answering client queries and providing administrative support to our various platforms. My tasks range from completing AML checks to processing the movement of funds. I also have some involvement in the company’s reconciliation process and annual HMRC reporting.
What initially interested you about Goji? What do you enjoy about working here?
I had never worked for a start-up before, and I was keen to see how businesses work their way up to the top - Goji is a master at it! What I enjoy the most about working for Goji is the constant learning and development. Every day we are presented with new challenges or queries for which we might not have definite answers - but our values and determination will always get us there in the end.
Where did you work prior to joining Goji? How has this shaped your role here?
Prior to joining Goji, I worked at Close Brothers as a Business Operations Administrator. I was later moved to the Customer Due Diligence team which gave me a better of view of the onboarding process and AML world, and a stepping stone to where I am today.
Give us the inside scoop – what are some of the unique aspects of working at Goji?
The Operations team is quite a young team. The energy that each team member brings to their role helps us to get through our day-to-day tasks with exuberance. We are always willing to help each other out whenever we are faced with challenges.
What was your dream job as a child? Tell us a bit about your journey to where you are today.
Looking back at my childhood, I don’t remember having a dream job. However, I do recall my mum telling me about wanting to forge a career in finance in her younger years. That inspired me to venture into the finance world. I am still discovering what my passion really is, but I’m grateful for my journey so far.
What would you do if you had unlimited free time?
I would use my unlimited time (with a touch of unlimited money) to travel the world and experience different cultures. I have always loved travelling, but I haven’t had the chance to do so in the last couple of years.
Any fun projects on the horizon? What are you and your team up to next?
We are currently working on building a solid Operations team to develop the best processes and customer service for our private funds and UK Alts clients. We’ve recently recruited in CoreOps and will continue to work alongside our new colleagues to develop their knowledge and skills.
