How long have you been with Goji? What is your role on your team?
I joined Goji as an Operations Executive in December 2018. Since then, I’ve moved around a bit. My new role is Payments Lead in the Finance team. In my role, I’m responsible for ensuring appropriate management and governance of Goji’s payment and CASS processes, whilst helping to mature the payments function as Goji grows.
What initially interested you about Goji? What do you enjoy about working here?
Working at a fintech start-up (and the old office dog - Bagel 🐶) initially piqued my interest in Goji. I wanted to work in a small, exciting place where I could learn, develop, and meaningfully contribute.
Where did you work prior to joining Goji? How has this shaped your role here?
My first role at Goji was my first official job after graduating. Before I joined Goji, I took a short break to travel around South America.
Prior to that, I worked in various operations and customer service roles which equipped me with the skills for my first role at Goji in the operations team.
Give us the inside scoop – what are some of the unique aspects of working at Goji?
The people are great! I’ve made some lifelong friends in my time here and I love getting the chance to collaborate with people from all teams across the company.
We’re a hybrid working company, but a lot of people choose to come to the office to socialise and have fun. My favourite part of the week is on a Wednesday afternoon when we organise Finance Fun. Wednesday is usually the busiest day in the office and the whole finance team is in, so we like to play games and get people involved from across the business!
What was your dream job as a child? Tell us a bit about your journey to where you are today.
My childhood dream job was to become a vet. I love animals but I abandoned the veterinary path when I realised it isn’t just a chance to cuddle cute animals.
What would you do if you had unlimited free time?
If I had unlimited free time, I'd spend it travelling and trying new activities. I think my first trip would be to Borneo and the first new activity I’d like to try would be something hands-on like glass blowing.
Do you have a favourite memory at Goji?
My favourite memory from my time at Goji is from our summer social in 2019. We had a companywide sports day in London Fields. It was great to see everyone’s competitive sides come out over holding an egg with a spoon!
