How long have you been with Goji? What is your role at the company?

I started in May 2023 as a Software Engineer, so I’ve been at Goji for less than a year.

Give us the inside scoop – what are some of the unique aspects of working at Goji?

I think what has struck me the most is the vibe of the company. Goji is friendly and relaxed, which I may not have been expecting in a fintech.

What has your experience been like with working on your team?

My team is fully remote, but I feel like I’ve settled into it quickly. While I joined Goji with less experience than other engineers on my team, they have made me feel included and I’ve received a lot of support since my first day.

Do you have a favourite memory from working here?

I enjoyed the 2023 summer party as I got to meet many of my colleagues face to face for the first time. Also, there were drinks and face painting, which was a bonus!

What was your dream job as a child? Tell us a bit about your journey to where you are today.

I don’t recall having a dream job, but I did like books, so I thought I might become a writer or editor. Eventually, I studied journalism at university and my first jobs were in content creation and marketing. However, as I started working more with websites and less with content, I became more interested in development. I studied for six months in a bootcamp in Barcelona before moving to London for my first development job in 2018.

What would you do if you had unlimited free time?

I would probably sleep quite a bit more! I think unlimited free time would be bad for me, I’d end up binge watching bad TV shows.

Any fun projects on the horizon? What are you and your team up to next?

I am in the process of buying my first home, so I have a lot to do in my personal life.

My team has some interesting projects on the horizon regarding KYC, which I’m hoping to contribute to and learn a lot from.
